Freight is not quoted by Glasscraft. When entry is shipped assembled and crated, unit may not be completely assembled, depending on configuration. Please inquire for more information or For Shipping Policies and Guldelines. See price list suppliment for shipping and crating charge information. PLEASE NOTE: Entryways with sidelights will be produced using a fat boy mull between the door and sidelites. This allows for a Continuous Sill to be installed, which provides a more attractive and stronger entryway system. On shipped entries assembled Changes or cancellations made to this order after signed confirmation is received by GlassCraft may result in additional charges.

Custom Product Quotation Guidelines:
The following are our suggested guidelines to follow when asking for a price quotation for a custom product:
  • Please send a detailed and specific, high quality production drawing or architectural rendering of the door and/or glass to be produced. If you cannot supply this drawing, we can produce it for you, using your input and ideas. Our design fee is $85 per hour, with a minimum charge of $150.
  • After our receipt of your Custom Quotation Request, we will return (via email) within 48 hours a Custom Quote at suggested retail pricing. The custom quote will contain all information regarding your request and current production lead times.
  • To accept the quote for an order, you must acknowledge your acceptance by completing a PREHANG FORM, and provide a purchase order number. Please reference the CQTE number on both prehang form and purchase order. We will schedule production of your custom order upon our receipt of this form and all other necessary information.
  • We may require that you send an exact size template prior to production of your custom order.
  • We may require a deposit of up to 100% on a custom product order. This payment information will be included with your Custom Order.
  • Orders for Custom Products may not be cancelled during the production process. An order change charge of up to 100% of the total order cost may apply if the order is changed during production. We will work with our customers in this event as much as possible to minimize these change charges.
  • We will schedule the production of your custom order only after our receipt of all of the required information (templates, signed prehang form singed approval drawing., deposit (if required), etc.).
Our estimated production lead time does not begin until we receive all of the necessary information to effect production.

Estimated Production Lead Times & Expediting Orders Lead times will vary depending upon the size of the unit being constructed, the overall number of door or window panel units on the order, and the current order capacity of our factory. We will offer an estimated production lead time with your Custom Products Quote, which will be based upon current mill and inventory availabilities. Lead times will be subject to change.

Warranty on Custom Products
Most custom orders include our 12-month limited product warranty. If we choose to not offer a warranty, it is because, in our judgment, there is a higher than normal possibility of product failure due to the customer’s design of the product. We do not offer any warranty on custom doors or sidelites taller than 96 inches or wider than 36 inches. See more warranty information on page 40.

Glasscraft Entry Assembly Instructions - PDF download
Please note that these instructions are for the assembly (prehanging) of your door unit prior to installation, and should not be confused with field installation instructions. It is recommended that instalation be performed by an experienced installer. All surfaces of the door, sidelite, transom, and/or millwork (inclusive of all edges and surfaces milled for hardware) should be sealed prior to assembly. If the unit has been ordered prefinished from GlassCraft, many of the steps outlined will not be necessary. Only the steps in bold type should be reviewed.

Finishing your wood door and entryway
At GlassCraft Door Company, we have spent years developing just the right finish for your wood door or complete entryway. Our exclusive finishing system applies beautiful wood stains in six colors and adds the final protective layers with crystal clear top finish coats. This produces a finish to complement the inherent beauty of the mahogany and knotty alder wood species.

Please note that the photos below offer an indication of the final appearance, but due to natural variations in the texture, grain, and color of wood, the actual results may vary.

All doors or entire prehung entryways may be ordered “unfinished” (for finishing by your contractor or remodeler), or with one of our beautiful “factory finishes”. Two finishes are available, each in any of the six colors shown above:

Traditional Finish is beautiful and long-lasting. All finish colors above are available in this standard smooth traditional finish. This 8-step finish process combines multiple coats of stain and clear top coats with ultraviolet inhibitors to preserve the beautiful appearance of your door. The natural rustic beauty of mahogany and alder shines through with this timeless wood finish.

Distressed Finish provides that special, antique-look appearance to any door. Available in any of the six colors shown above, this distressed finish adds the character of a favorite antique—suitable for a Tuscan Villa, Mexican Hacienda, Mediterranean or Texas Hill Country Estate–an aged look that complements the natural beauty of real wood. Stunning!

Knotty Alder Finishes

Mahogany Finishes

The hardwoods used in the manufacture of doors all vary slightly in color and grain pattern. These differences are inherent in hardwoods, and should not be considered defects.

Please note that all edge surfaces and front and back surfaces of your doors must be finished correctly in order to maintain the warranty on the door.

Prehung Entry Systems
Prehung units include interior casing, and brick mold, door sweep, weatherstripping, and adjustable threshold, plus 3 hinges on 6-8 doors and 4 hinges on 8-0 doors. Sub-Casing is optional - please specify. Standard prehang (4-5/8”, 6-5/8”) includes use of Mahogany or Knotty Alder jamb, frame, and sash components. Prehung units may be ordered unfinished or prefinished to match your door. Please note that, for entryways with sidelites, we use Fat Boy mull posts between the door and sidelites instead of double jamb legs whenever possible. This allows for the use of a continuous sill below.

NOTE: To view configurations click on the following link Product Information Guide pg 24-31

Jamb Kits

Jamb Kits include the necessary component parts to construct the following entry configurations. These kits are not mortised, bored, or fitted, and include components length materials only - assembly is required. Kits do not include door, glass, sill, transom frames (where applicable) or hardware. Jamb Kits are available in Mahogany and Knotty Alder. Transom frames with or without decorative glass are also available to fit most jamb kit with transom configurations.

Shipping Guidelines

Doors, Sidelights, and Transoms
These products are securely packed standing on edge in custom wooden crates and pallets. Shipments of less than approximately 8 doors will be packed in 1 to 3 door crates, while shipments of 8 doors and greater may be packaged in larger 10 door cartons. These 10 door crates are unique to GlassCraft, and reflect our dedication to getting the door to you in perfect condition. Each door is individually shrink packaged in a 6 mil poly bag, to protect the door during handling. Then the door stock number and glass stock number is listed on the edge of the door unit, and the door is placed inside of the 10 door crate, with approximately 1 inch between each door, to protect them during shipment.

Prehung Entry Systems
Shipment and assembly configurations for these units are available in 3 options:
1) Assembled for customer pickup at our factory

2) Premachined - K-D or knocked down, and crated for shipment. These entries have been completly assembled, and are then disassembled and crated for shipment, and reassembly at your location.

3) Assembled and crated for shipment. Unit may not be fully assembled, depending upon size and configuration. Brick molding is not mounted.

We have found that our customers get the best product and the best results when we ship the door frame prehung with the door in the same shipment. If you require the door frame earlier than the door, we suggest that you order the appropriate door frame jamb kit , and assemble the frame yourself or on the job-site. If we ship the frame separately from the door, we cannot guarantee the alignment of the door to the frame, or the alignment of the hardware.

Receiving Your Shipment
Please inspect any shipment for damage prior to signing the delivery receipt. If damage is found, you should make a notation on the delivery receipt, and file a claim for damage with the delivering freight carrier, or notify GlassCraft if delivered on a company truck. GlassCraft Door Company assumes no liability for any damage which may occur during shipping.

If there is no visible damage to the shipment, we suggest that you note on your delivery receipt/bill of lading not checked for concealed damage at the time of delivery. Please do not attempt any return to us withour our prior noticiation and authorization, as we will not accept the shipment and it will be return back to you including freight charges both ways.

Shipment Error or Shortage
If you receive a shipment and there is a shortage, an error, or a defective product, contact our customer service department within 7 days of your receipt of the order, so that we can resolve the problem quickly and completely. We may issue a Return Authorization Number and arrange the shipment of the merchandise back to our facility. Please include a copy of the GlassCraft Invoice which covered the shipment in question.
